Our local paper, the Cincinnati Enquirer, had this article about Thimble Collectors International that has been meeting here. This quote from Bobbie Howard, Master of Ceremonies, caught my eye:
“It only takes exposure to one thimble to catch the collector’s fever,” said Howard, of Baltimore.
Fortunately we have escaped this dreaded disease. What really sold it for me, though, was this photograph of Howard.
We love this “dreaded disease “and welcome anyone who wants to get infected, Donna Rothman
You shouldn’t criticize what you have no knowledge of. Bobbie is part of the “fashion parade” and is dressed as a parady of the Hallmark Ornament issued a number of years ago. It’s a fun and time honored part of the convention. The convention involved hundreds of people, from all over the world, who share an interest in thimbles and sewing tools. There were very informative, educational programs that you find no where else but at the TCI convention. What might picque your interest is that thimbles and sewing accressories can sell for thousands of dollars….I’m not looking for a cure to this “dreaded disease”!
